Say hello to Solis. This little guy is about 5 months old and is looking for an experienced adopter to give him a wonderful home. Solis came to us as a feral kitten and his foster family has been working hard to socialize him and make him more comfortable with people. He has come a very long way but he still needs a quiet home with someone who can continue working with him.
The key to this guy's heart is food. He is incredbily food motivated and will do almost anything for Temptations treats. Unfortunately, since Solis spent his kittenhood growing up without a reliable food source, he has the 'starving cat' mentality, meaning that when there is food in front of him he will eat until it's gone. In fact, on his first day, Solis ended up in the emergency hospital with a bad case of food bloat because he gorged his food and the food of the other kittens in his foster home. Therefore, Solis needs to be fed measured/regular meals and will not be able to be free-fed.
Once Solis gets to know you he will happily sit on your lap and purr up a storm, but he does not come up to you on his own. He is nervous of loud noises and fast movements and will swat (without claws) if he's scared. Therefore, Solis needs a quiet, adult-only home. Although he's not comfortable around children, he loves other cats. It will be important for Solis to go to a home where there is an existing cat that is calm and confident around people that can help to show him the ropes. He really loves to play and we've found that it's a great way to engage and interact with Solis.
