About Anni & Aggie...

Anni and Agentha (aka Aggie) are sisters and they're looking for a home together. These girls came to us after being found as shy, stray kittens. Unfortunately, Anni has some medical needs that needed to be addressed, so these cuties have had to be with us for a full year. The benefit of being in foster care all that time, is that they're no longer shy and are now sweet and cuddly. They are silly, playful, curious and independent girls once they are settled in. These two are great with older kids, other cats and cat-savvy dogs. They have been in foster homes with both cats and dogs and they spent time playing and cuddling with them regularly. They would be very happy to go to a home with other pets, but they could also be in a home with just the two of them together. When the girls were fairly young, the vet noticed that they had significant inflammation in their mouths. After some investigation, they were both diagnosed with Hyperplastic Feline Juvenile Gingivitis. Aggie (the dark torti) had a mild case and it was able to be fixed with a dental procedure. However, Anni (the brown tabby) had a severe case, that turned into Stomatitis. Stomatitis is essentially where the immune system has an exaggerated response to the dental plaque that builds up on the teeth, causing severe inflammation in the mouth and gums. This condition is very painful and the veterinary dental specialist said that poor Anni had the worse case of Stomatitis that she'd ever seen. Unfortunately, the only way to cure Anni's condition and remove her pain was for the specialist to do full-mouth dental extractions, leaving Anni with no teeth. While this seems like a scary concept, Anni is doing very well now and her Stomatitis is cured. She is out of pain and she's so much happier! She eats well, plays well and is an entirely different cat now that she's comfortable. Since Anni does not have any teeth left, she should not require any further dental care throughout her life. Aggie will still need the same regular dental care that any healthy cat should receive. If you'd like to learn more about Anni & Aggie, please reach out to us at victoriapets@gmail.com. They have been waiting for a home for over a year, and now that they're finally ready, we'd love to find the perfect family for them.
