About Jacqui...

Meet Jacqui, a gorgeous 3 year old, 24 kg/53 lb female Pit cross. She was found on the street in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in terrible shape. She is now at the Acopio Shelter in PV and Dog For Life is caring for her. She is spayed and getting the care she needs to get healthy and ready for her furever home. She is a head strong dog and needs a gentle but firm owner who is willing to take the time to train her and give her the best chance to be an awesome addition to a family. She is great with adults and we will check how she is with children. She is great with other dogs male and female. Her prey drive is strong from living on the street so keep the chickens in the hen house and NO cats. If you are interested in Jacqui please contact Deb Barsalou at dhbarsalou@shaw.ca or call her at 250-882-5099 A bit of background about Dog For Life…We are a very small non-profit rescue group made up of people who love and have a passion for helping dogs and who work and live in Puerto Vallarta and Victoria as well as other parts of Canada and the USA. Dog For Life differs from other, larger rescue groups in that we personally work with each dog in Mexico and are part of their entire journey from the shelter to a foster home in Puerto Vallarta to their “furever” homes in Canada. We take great care in ensuring they are healthy and well and placed in the best possible homes. Our usual process is to have you fill out an application form, we review and then if warranted someone from our team would meet you and do a home check to ensure the inside and outside environments are safe and suitable for the dog. Then if all checks out and the dog is the right fit for you and you are right for the dog, we have the applicant do a one week foster to adopt. To adopt one of our dogs is $450 – this fee helps to cover some of the costs to get the dogs well – spay/neutered, vaccinations, vet care and ready to travel.
